Researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Bureau of Business Research and Department of Economics recently updated their State Entrepreneurship Index, their state-by-state measurement of entrepreneurial activity, moving Texas up 25 places to #9 for entrepreneurship.
The index looks at much more than just the number of new businesses started, including factors such as gross receipts of partnerships and sole proprietorships, number of patents issued per capita, etc.
While we work with clients from all over the world, here at Creatuity we’ve noticed that even throughout the recession, demand from Texas startups for software and web development services has remained strong, stronger than many other regions in the US. This latest report only strengthens our belief that the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is poised to become one of the top locations for technology-focused companies.
