What Facebook Can Offer your Business
Facebook is probably the most established social media site as of right now. Started in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, more than 1 billion users are on Facebook and this number is steadily growing. According to shopify.com, 62 percent of Facebook users are active on a monthly basis and 48 percent of 18-34 year olds check Facebook right when they wake up. Think of all the people your business can reach.
When Facebook is used properly, it can get a lot of people engaged. Three main ways to be active on Facebook are to update often, introduce new products or promos to Facebook users, and let users know that you appreciate their comments, likes, or shares. Posts need to be timely and relevant in order to be effective and once you know who your audience is, figure out what time most of your audience goes on Facebook and what would interest them. For example, if you sell kitchen appliances, you would want to post recipes or promotions about cooking classes or sales. Things that will showcase your appliances. Pay attention to the page statistics to see what kinds of articles or posts drive the most engagement. Statistically, the more photos you have, the better. Posts with photos get 53% more likes, 104% more comments, and 84% more clicks than posts that do not have pictures on a regular basis.
Facebook has it’s own analytics system that is fairly useful. When something is posted, you can look to see how many people have clicked on the post. Knowing how many people have shown interest on a post is beneficial because it shows a business owner what tactics work and what doesn’t. There is also an extension made by a third-party for Magento called Addshoppers that is beneficial for keeping track of social media. It shows you a more detailed report of how your social media efforts and how to make your efforts better. Facebook analytics does give you a break down of who has been looking at your page plus how many people see the post but Addshoppers shows the percentage of total shares, clicks, social sales, revenue, and the conversion rate and Average order value.
Recently, Facebook has set up a hashtag system just like Twitter and Instagram’s system. If you are unfamiliar with hashtags, hashtags allow people to find posts about topics they are interested in. For example, “I love pandas. #cute”. When people look up the term cute, this post will be there, along with several other posts about cute things. Whenever I hastag #Bingo or #Boomtown, I see all the posts from Boomtown Bingo. Boomtown Bingo provides you the most up to date bingo sites. It’s fantastic! It’s still being perfected but when it becomes popular, business owners will be able to see what Facebook users think are popular and cater to Facebookers’ needs. (Yes, I just made Facebook into a group of people). It’s a good way to also place your product where people can see it. Going back to the appliances example: “Check out this cool new blender! It can make smoothies, soups and sauces! #Blender #smoothies #soup #sauces #food”. Now more people than just the people that liked your page will be able to see your post.
Here is an example in picture form:
The “like” button is probably the most powerful tool for a business owner on Facebook. Business owners create fan pages so they reach out to an audience that wants to know about their products or services. Want to increase the amount of likes your page gets and your follower status ? With our “Facebook Fangate Coupons”, people will automatically receive a coupon when they like your Facebook page. By installing the “Facebook Fangate Coupon” extension, this will increase the amount of people talking about your your products and Facebook page. So going back to the kitchen appliance example. It could be a special cooking class that you are hosting or for example vacuum sealer reviews you would like to spread. Either way, it will make the person who liked the page more interested in what your business has to offer.
