Team Member: Robert R., Account Manager, Dallas office
Background: BA in Emerging Media and Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas. Studies focused on Digital Media,Technology, and Art Practice as Research.
So Robert, how long have you been working in eCommerce and development?
I’ve been working with all types of digital media for many years. Recently, I have become very interested and inspired by the constantly changing landscape of eCommerce and online marketing. I have experience in creating websites using WordPress and Bootstrap. Currently, I am learning a lot about the ins and outs of Magento. I find Magento to be an extremely fascinating and robust system.
With that in mind, what drew you to working in eCommerce and development?
In college I got the opportunity to work with some extremely talented coders. They inspired me to begin learning basic code languages in HTML, CSS, and even a bit of Python. I learned that there is a vast creativity found in the architecture of code languages. I knew then that I wanted to have a career working with designers and code architects designing interactive digital environments. Finding my way into working with eCommerce seems a logical step in that direction.
Do you have any particular skills you’d like to share?
I really enjoy collaboration and working within a team to successfully accomplish goals. I feel that one of my greatest skills is my ability to work with others. I have experience in many forms of digital design including web, audio/visual, and print media.
What’s your favorite part about working at Creatuity?
It is the people that make Creatuity. All of my co-workers near and far maintain the very positive attitudes. Things can sometimes get stressful, but it is my team members that help pull me through and help me to constantly learn.
Any of hobbies or things you love to do when you’re not working?
My background is firmly rooted in the Fine Arts. I have assisted and worked with a few world renowned painters, and have had a few successful exhibitions of my own work. Currently, I am working primarily in sculpture using biodegradable materials to create many different modular forms that can be grouped and organized into unique object oriented installations. I also spend a lot of my creative free time working with sound design/production.
Camping and traveling are my favorite things to do. I like to travel places without really planing anything out – just to see what happens. I have had the best and worst moments of my life traveling in this way.
Finally, any fun facts about you we can share?
I am really good at building tree houses.
