PIM Integration & Magento 2 Migration for Outdoor Power Equipment
Client: Four Bros Outdoor Power / MowPart.com
February 13, 2026
About the Client
MowPart.com is the online storefront for Four Bros Outdoor Power, a distributor of replacement parts for lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment. Their catalog spans thousands of SKUs with complex compatibility relationships — the kind of product data challenge that breaks simple e-commerce setups.
The Challenge
Parts distribution is a data problem as much as a commerce problem. Customers need to find the exact right part for their specific equipment model, which means the catalog has to handle intricate cross-references, fitment data, and technical specifications. As the product line grew, managing that data inside Magento alone became unsustainable.
On top of that, MowPart was running on Magento 1 — a platform approaching end of life — and needed to modernize without disrupting the business.
Our Approach
Creatuity worked with Four Bros across four major project phases over six years:
- Original Magento build — Established the initial MowPart.com storefront with B2B-appropriate catalog structure and search
- EGO integration — Connected the EGO brand product line into the existing catalog infrastructure
- Magento 2 migration — Moved the entire platform from M1 to M2, preserving the complex catalog relationships and SEO equity that had been built over years
- Akeneo PIM integration — Implemented Akeneo as the central product information management system, giving the team a dedicated tool to manage thousands of parts with their technical attributes, compatibility data, and supplier information outside of Magento
The Impact
The PIM integration changed how the business managed its catalog. Instead of fighting Magento’s admin to maintain complex parts data, the team could manage product information in a system purpose-built for it — with Akeneo handling the enrichment and syndication, and Magento handling the commerce.
The M2 migration gave MowPart a modern, supported platform with better performance and extensibility, while the six-year partnership meant architectural decisions compounded rather than being thrown away with each project phase.
Why It Matters
B2B parts distributors sit at the intersection of catalog complexity and buyer expectations. Their customers know exactly what they need and have zero patience for bad search or wrong fitment data. PIM integration isn’t a nice-to-have in this space — it’s the difference between a site that converts and one that drives buyers to Amazon or a competitor’s counter.
