Rebel Athletic Overcomes WordPress Woes with Magento

With the help of Creatuity, Rebel Athletic said goodbye to their five WordPress sites, creating a single instance on Magento Commerce Cloud.

About Rebel Athletic

Karen Noseff Aldridge founded Rebel Athletic in 2012 with the goal of providing the best cheerleading uniforms in the world, at the best value, backed up by the best service, choice and designs available anywhere. Looks matter in this sport and have the potential to make the difference between winning and placing. Rebel Athletic was founded to enable every cheerleader, team and gym to compete on a level playing field.

The Challenge for Rebel Athletic

Before discovering Magento, this cheerleader uniform startup was juggling 5 WordPress multisite back-ends. Five brands. Five different webstores. One major headache. Fulfilling orders from multiple WordPress sites was becoming impossible. Analytics were a chore, and Rebel’s eCommerce websites were holding back the business. Their online sales and traffic were growing so much that the site would crash.

The Results

Rebel Athletic asked Creatuity to implement Magento Commerce Cloud and began working on their digital transformation. They built a multi-store infrastructure that would run all five of Rebel’s brands on one site. After six months of work, the new Rebel Athletic site was launched in October of 2017. The new site was very mobile friendly, which was a must for the cheerleading brand, since 70 to 80 percent of their customers come from mobile. Rebel enjoyed a 350 percent increase in holiday sales year-over-year, and saw a 25 percent increase in mobile traffic. Additionally, they saw a 500 percent increase in active browsing sessions.
